Today is the International Day of Plant Health.
This year's theme — "Plant biosecurity for food security and nutrition" — sounds like policy language, and it is. But it's also just true. The systems that protect crops from disease, from invasive pests, from resistance collapse all depend on innovation. And innovation only happens when people have a reason to invest in it.
That's what IP does. Not in an abstract sense. Concretely: Food security and plant protection innovations exist because someone protected the idea long enough to bring it to market. Strip that protection and the economics doesn't work. The innovation doesn't happen.
At Baldwin IP, we're here because we believe in the mission: protecting the innovations that feed, heal, and sustain the world. On days like today, that's not a tagline. It's just what the work is.
Happy International Day of Plant Health.
